Positive Behaviour Support Team Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development and Networking – Leverage your existing sector relationships to general referrals, secure partnerships and contribute to Elements ABC’s growth in Queensland
  • Team Leadership – Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development to a growing team of Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Behaviour Support Leadership – Oversee the delivery of evidence-based, person-centred behaviour support services, including functional behaviour assessments, behaviour support plans and restrictive intervention step-down strategies across a diverse caseload
  • Operational & Strategic Oversight – Manage team performance, monitor budgets, ensure compliance with NDIS standards and contribute to broader business strategy and service expansion

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience working with complex presentations, preferably within youth and/or disability justice or complex mental health settings
  • Minimum 12 months experience working in a behaviour supporting role
  • Proven experience writing functional behaviour assessments, behaviour support plans and needs assessments
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing behavioural assessment and intervention across diverse settings including family, out-of-home care and community-based care
  • Preferred experience working with clients with forensic backgrounds, including familiarity with prison environments
  • Proficiency in working with individuals with co-occurring diagnoses and complex presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Knowledge of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system and related settings is desirable

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or a related field
  • Proficient, Advanced or Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner accreditation
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Driver’s Licence and vehicle

About you

  • You will have established networks and sector connections within Queensland’s disability, mental health, forensic and youth justice services
  • You will have proven expertise in behaviour support with NDIS Practitioner Suitability at Proficient level or higher
  • You will have strong leadership and team management experience, with a background in supervising and mentoring practitioners
  • You will have business development acumen, with a demonstrated ability to generate referrals, secure partnerships and drive service growth
  • You will have experience working with forensic clients and youth justice
